I laid in bed last night trying to come up with something and my idea was for a nearly empty cup of coffee sitting on a newspaper with coffee stains on the paper. You can find an abandoned coffee cup like this at almost any hour of any day in our house (perhaps minus the newspaper). With a picture in my mind I set out to create the mood of abandonment, sharp focus on the cup with the words of the newsprint blurred out in the background. Here is what I came up with:
1/8 sec, f4.5, 34mm, ISO 100
Edited in Adobe Lightroom 2 - Cropped, Aged Photo Preset, Point Curve-Strong Contrast
What do you think? What mood (if any) does the photo convey to you?

I really like it, very creative and I like the composition, good job, again!
I love this one. I think it really portrays the mood of the times. Someone could have been looking over the jobs, or the news could be stories of today, and the almost empty cup could symbolize our nation, running on almost empty, or running on borrowed energy/time. That's what I think of.
It conveys to me that it has been too long since you and I have had coffee and the dried rings of dripped coffee staining the pages of my poor wounded heart will soon stain the newspaper of my life. Good? Too much?
An excellent shot. Makes me feel like breakfast was cut short by a phone call from Viggo. One can always dream:)
