I started this blog in July of 2006, just before I moved to Sicily. "California to Sicily" was a way to chronicle and share my journey as a military wife moving and living overseas and a way to share my adventures with friends and family back home. As my blog evolved over the years I found a niche in travel and photography. I loved sharing photos of the places that I was lucky enough to visit!
In December of 2010 I moved back to the US and changed the name of my blog to "California to Sicily (and back)." I wasn't quite ready to give up that connection to Sicily. I missed Europe terribly (and still do) and found myself in a creative rut. So much of my inspiration was tied to the sights and textures of Europe.
It has taken me a while regain my creative spark. Personal projects like Photo of the Week and the California Missions have been a huge source of inspiration! I've had to slow down and take in the details - and while it isn't Europe, California is pretty awesome! I'm having a blast taking photos again and exploring the world around me.
With that in mind my new blog title: "Explore - Capture - Create" probably makes a lot of sense (the URL http://anglouise.blogspot.com will stay the same). I've been thinking about this title for a couple of months and I feel that it really describes me: my love of travel, photography, and anything creative.
Expect to see lots of travel stories - local and abroad; tons of photos; and bits about the things I create: with photos, paper, in the kitchen...really the sky is the limit! I hope you enjoy the new focus and direction of this blog. I'm excited to see where it will take me!
P.S. I'd love to hear from you in the comments! Please let me know what you think of the new name and blog design. Thanks!
